February 2004

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and saw the New Year in full on verve and anticipation of what 2004 would bring!

I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2004.

Unfortunately, one of my dearest friends, Jimmy O’Reilly, died just before Christmas, which was heart-breaking; he was one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. He used to manage TV Presenters, such as Lorraine Kelly etc. I have never known him to utter a bad word about anyone, and I never saw him without a smile. The world is a poorer place without him.

Well, as I will be at MIDEM in the next day or so, my column will be very short, as I have so much to do.

In the last edition I talked about PHIXX, well it certainly stirred the hornet’s nest!

I had hundreds of e-mails from you girl fans, who accused me of putting them down! Well I wasn’t actually slagging the lads off, more their method of, shall we say promotion.

I know the boys have great voices, and given the right styling and songs, I do think they would be very successful, but not the way they are. I heard rumours that they are allegedly £300,000 in debt after the dust settled on the sales, so that shows what was spent on them.

I had an e-mail from Online Legal Review, they obviously think my column is important J.!

I won’t make any comments on whether Michael was subjected to police brutality, as I wish to remain impartial in the matter, but you can click on the following links and form your own opinion.

Here is the e-mail in full with the links.

“We have recently interviewed several Michael Jackson fans and journalists who allege various acts of police brutality after last Friday's arraignment. A press release and further details on this matter will be forthcoming this weekend. In the meantime, please feel free to listen to the below interviews we conducted (feel free to email us for a full transcript).

“We will be contacting a Jackson family attorney to discuss their inclination of filing a formal complaint against the SBPD and the Santa Maria Police Dept. After our report is finalized this weekend, we will contact representatives of the SBDA and SBPD for comment.”
